Can a substance have a positive effect on memory and the ability to learn new things? On October 12, at Brain Ukraine 2021, Candidate of Sciences in Biology and a scientist with more than 20 years of working experience Oleh Lushchak will answer the question.
The speaker will make a presentation: “Ferulic acid ethers as molecules for improving memory and learning ability”.
Oleh is an Associate professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnologies at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. He studies the molecular mechanisms that regulate lifespan and the development of age-related diseases. He is looking for substances that can help increase longevity. Also investigates metabolic disorders and the possibility of their correction.
He has been a researcher at Heidelberg University, Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics, Buck Institute for Research on Aging. In 2020, he received a US patent for the development and study of molecules that improve mental performance.
Oleh is a member of the editorial panel at Frontiers in Physiology magazine, which publishes research in the field of physiology of living systems. Member of the editorial board at Biogerontology journal. He has written over 90 publications and chapters of monographs in popular scientific journals. One of the hundred most cited scientists in Ukraine according to Scopus bibliographic database.
