In just a couple of weeks, on October 12, Kyiv will host Brain Ukraine 2021 conference, where the best Ukrainian experts will talk about the most effective ways to improve memory, increase productivity and prolong cognitive youth.

In order to successfully apply innovative methods for improving the brain, it is important to know the basic principles of its work. Ukrainian biophysicist and neurophysiologist Oleh Kryshtal will help to figure it out. He will make a presentation on the topic “Me and my brain. In simple words about complex mechanisms of brain functioning”.

Oleh is a professor and Doctor of Biology. Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, member of the European Academy of Sciences. Laureate of Boris Paton National Prize of Ukraine.

In 1970, he began working at O. O. Bohomolets Institute of Physiology at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, where he has been the Head of the Department of Physicochemical Biology of Cell Membranes since 1982.

The scientist is a co-author of the discovery about the phenomenon of selective conductivity of nerve cells soma membrane. He dedicates a lot of time to training students, graduate students and doctors. Eighth most cited scientist of Ukraine.

Oleh has been a guest professor at the following universities: Kyushu (Japan), Harvard, Pennsylvania (USA), Complutense (Spain).
