In the life of every person, situations occur that can cause the development of stress. The state of psychological and physical stress can adversely affect health, performance and even lead to serious illness. In order not to face the negative consequences of stress, it is important to learn to cope with it in time, and even better – to prevent it.

How to do that? On October 12, Head of PSYMED neuropsychological center Maryna Gumeniuk will become a speaker at Brain Ukraine 2021 conference, answering the question.

The expert will make a presentation on the topic “The nature of stress. How to prevent the negative impact of bad events on decision-making".

Key points of the presentation:

  • how our behavior changes during stress;

  • pleasant and unpleasant experiences: why they can cause stress;

  • learned helplessness: what you need to know about this condition;

  • how to learn to cope with stress;

  • effective techniques to help protect yourself from stress. Practical advice from an expert.

Maryna is a clinical psychologist, neuropsychologist and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist. She is a member of the Association of Psychotherapists of Ukraine. Since 2017, she has been heading PSYMED neuropsychological center.

She is the author of popular scientific articles on psychology, co-author and teacher of a training course in clinical neuropsychology. Works as a psychologist at “Voice of the Country”, “Voice. Children” talent shows and other TV projects on Ukrainian television.

She also conducts training seminars for teenagers and parents. Has been conducting practice for over 20 years, teaching for 12 years. Has been a lecturer at O. O. Bohomolets National Medical University and Kyiv Institute of Modern Psychology and Psychotherapy.
